James G. Richards, Distinguished Professor of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences, was featured in the Feb. 17 Wall Street Journal in a page one story about a new hinged figure skate he designed and the company Jackson Ultima is producing.

Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair of Corporate Governance and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a Feb. 17 Reuters story on talks between investor Carl Icahn and Time Warner and in a Feb. 16 Reuters story on the resignation of an XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. board member.

Kimmie Meissner, a member of the U.S. Olympic Team and the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club, was featured in Sports Illustrated. The magazine followed the 16-year-old through her daily routine, from classes at Fallston (Md.) High School to training with coach Pam Gregory at UD. Gregory was featured in a Feb. 5 Baltimore Sun story, and Meissner also was featured in a Feb. 6 Time magazine story and two-page photograph.

Mark J. Miller, Emma Smith Morris Professor of Political Science and International Relations, was quoted in a Feb. 17 News Journal story on relations between the United States and Kenya.

Leslie F. Goldstein, Hugh M. Morris Professor of Political Science and International Relations, was quoted in a Feb. 17 News Journal story on Delaware's role in the adoption of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Muqtedar Khan, assistant professor of political science and international relations, was quoted in a Feb. 16 Associated Press story on the opportunity afforded the United States to improve its image in the Muslim world following the publication of an offensive cartoon in European newspapers. Khan also was quoted in a Feb. 7 Newsday story on reaction to the cartoon.

Ron Ludington, director of UD's Ice Skating Science Development Center, was featured in a Feb. 16 Philadelphia Inquirer story on the loss of the U.S. national figure skating team in a 1961 plane crash in Belgium.

Thomas Isherwood, a UD student, was featured in the Feb. 15 USA Today as a member of its All-USA College Academic First Team.

Jack Gelb, chairperson of the Department of Animal and Food Sciences, was quoted in a Feb. 15 News Journal story on efforts to contain a highly contagious poultry virus found in chickens on the Delmarva Peninsula.

John Antil, associate professor of business administration, was quoted in a Feb. 14 Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch story about the return to NASCAR sponsorship of AAA.

Dan Carson, chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences, was quoted in a Feb. 14 News Journal story on the biology of love.

Meryl Gardner, associate professor of business administration, was quoted in a Feb. 12 Associated Press story on the 100th anniversary of the cereal maker Kellogg.

Dina Amin, associate professor of foreign language and literatures, was quoted in a Feb. 11 New York Times story on the Arab-American theatre.

Russell Dynes, professor emeritus of sociology and founding director of UD's Disaster Research Center, was quoted in a Feb. 7 New Orleans Times-Picayune story about leniency by prosecutors in some criminal cases against residents charged for looting in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Joyce Hill Stoner, professor of art conservation, was quoted in a Feb. 5 News journal story on art preservation efforts along the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast.
