William Frawley to head University of Mary Washington
In making the announcement Feb. 3, Mona D. Albertine, rector of the University of Mary Washington, said, Dr. Frawley brings the proper mix of academic achievement, managerial expertise and strong leadership skills to take the University of Mary Washington to new heights of excellence in the 21st century. Dr. Frawley rose to the top in competition with more than 100 highly qualified applicants, including three extraordinarily talented finalists. Since 2002, Frawley has served as dean of the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences at George Washington University. Before that, he served for 23 years as a faculty member and administrator at the University of Delaware. His wife, Maria Frawley, a former member of UD's English faculty, is an associate professor of English at George Washington University. |
