UD womenıs lacrosse upsets Penn State
9:51 a.m., April 13, 2006--Sophomore attack Casey McCrudden scored five goals, including the game-winner with just 16 seconds left, to lead the University of Delaware women's lacrosse team to a 15-14 upset of No. 18 ranked Penn State on Wednesday night at Rullo Stadium. The victory broke a six-game losing streak for the Fightin' Blue Hens, who improved to 4-9. The Hens will return to action with a pair of Colonial Athletic Association home games this weekend, taking on George Mason University at 7 p.m., Friday, April 14, and James Madison University at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 16. In addition to McCrudden, UD freshman attack Lindyn Soviero scored four goals and senior attack Megan Hager scored three. Freshman Debbie Sloan had one goal and two assists, and senior Kristin Cellucci and junior Katie Muth scored one goal each. Freshman Erin Zimmerman had an assist and UD goalkeeper Jessica Cerveny had seven saves. |
