Charles “Bill” Emory
 

April 14, 2006--Charles “Bill” Emory, 81, of Robscott Manor, Newark, died March 12, 2006, in Christiana Hospital.

Mr. Emory worked at the University of Delaware's Instructional Resource Center and Dodd Dental Labs. He also owned and operated Emory's Inc., a dry cleaning business, for six years and worked at Sayer Brothers and Webb's Dry Cleaning.

An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Emory served in the Pacific Theatre campaign with the 503rd Airborne Division.

Mr. Emory enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and cards and attending University of Delaware football and basketball games and the numerous winter vacations he spent in Florida with his beloved niece Eileen Cullen.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Olive Emory, and a brother, Glenn Roscoe Emory. Mr. Emory is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mabel P. Emory; his daughters, Sandra L. Margerison and Joyce Ann Skrobot, and her husband, John; his brother, Donald Lee Emory, and his wife, Nancy; his sister, Eleanor Kline; his grandchildren, Jennifer L. Speakman, and her husband, Dan; Richard L. Margerison Jr., and his wife, Crystal; Shawn M. Margerison, and his wife, Andrea; John A. Skrobot III, and his wife, Katie, and Nicole Skrobot; his great grandchildren Jared Law Margerison, Charley Rayne Margerison and John A. Skrobot IV; and many nieces and nephews.

A service was held March 15 at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, Wilmington, and internment was at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear.
