UD video awarded first place

Jeanne Geddes-Key, Emily L. Phelps Director of the College School, consults with an arriving student in a still from the award-winning video.
11:36 a.m., Nov. 23, 2004--A 10-minute video about UD’s College School, produced by Kyle Chappell, video producer for IT-University Media Services, won first place for best video in the Brandywine Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) 2004 Excellence in Nonprofit Communications awards. The chapter held its Philanthropy Day 2004 awards ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the DuPont Country Club.

Developed as a recruiting and fund-raising overview of the College School for the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy’s development office, the video was submitted to AFP by Janet Sydnor, director, University development.

Jeanne Geddes-Key, Emily L. Phelps Director of the College School, accepted the award. “The video centers on the lives of three of the children at the school and a graduate assistant in practicum situations,” she said. “I have not had anyone see the video who hasn’t called and said they wanted to apply. Kyle really captured the school.”
