Blue Hen volleyball earns two victories 9:28 a.m., Nov. 1, 2004--The University of Delaware volleyball team won two Colonial Athletic Association games over the weekend, defeating the University of North Carolina Wilmington 3-0 on Friday and the College of William and Mary 3-0 on Saturday. The Fightin Blue Hens have now won three straight games and improved to 18-6 overall and 7-3 in the CAA. In Saturdays victory, Colleen Walsh had 13 kills on 34 tries, Valerie Murphy had 11 kills and three blocks and Niecy Taylor had five blocks. Allison Lutz had nine assists and Megan Welch had 24, her season high. Taylor Govaars had 20 digs and Claire McCormack had 13. In Fridays victory, Murphy and Taylor had 11 kills and one block each, Sarah Engle had 10 kills and Wash had seven kills. Lutz had 25 assists and Govaars 22 digs. The Hens will play a nonconference game at LaSalle University at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, before returning home for CAA contests against James Madison University at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, and Virginia Commonwealth University at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6. UD will conclude the CAA regular season with games at Towson University on Nov. 12 and at George Mason University on Nov. 13. The conference championship tournament will open Nov. 19.
