Lecture on womens advancement set Oct. 21
Valian, a cognitive scientist whose research ranges from first and second language acquisition to gender differences and gender equity, will discuss why so few women are at the top of their professions, and why this trend extends across the fields of science, law, medicine, college teaching, industry and business. Her lecture will present her research in psychology, sociology, economics and neuropsychology. The event, which is sponsored by the Commission on the Status of Women, is free and open to the public.
