Software testing talk set Nov. 19 1:13 p.m., Nov. 15, 2004--Mary Jean Harrold, professor of computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will highlight current software testing practices in a lecture from 2:30-4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19, in 115 Purnell Hall. "Software Testing: Past Successes and Future Challenges" will outline various techniques, challenges and expenses associated with software testing procedures and explore the latest trends. Harrold also will share recent research she has conducted on ways to improve testing techniques and tools. Harrold co-chairs the Computer Research Association Committee on the Status of Women in Computing Research. She also is a member of the planning group for the National Center for Women and Information Technology. The free public lecture is sponsored by the Department of Computer and Information Sciences and is part of the Distinguished Lecturer Series and the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Scholarship Lecture Series.
