University of Sarajevo, UD launch MBA program The new Sarajevo Graduate School of Business (SGSB) is a partnership between UDs Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and the University of Sarajevos Faculty of Economics and will offer the schools first MBA. Attending the ceremony on the third floor of the Faculty of Economics building, where the new graduate school will be housed, were Michael J. Ginzberg, dean of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics; Douglas McElhaney, ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina; Muris Cicic, dean of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Economics; Howard Sumka, USAID mission director in Bosnia and Herzegovina; and Milos Trifkovic, dean of SGSB. The joint venture is as a result of a five-year, $10 million grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development to UD and the University of Sarajevo to develop the graduate program. John Kmetz, faculty director of international programs in the Lerner College, who applied for the grant, said the two-year MBA program is designed for working professionals and managers. Classes began in September and will meet weekday evenings and weekends, so that students may enroll in the program while still employed. All instruction is in English, and both schools will provide the faculty. Article by Barbara Garrison To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
