UD playwright speaks at Borders Wednesday 1:34 p.m., Oct. 26, 2004--Scott Mason, associate director of Student Centers and a UD alumnus, will lead a discussion at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Borders Books and Music in Stanton on Becoming a Local Playwright: Tips for Success. The event is free and open to the public. Mason has written 26 plays, books for musicals and fundraisers that have been performed off-Broadway, in Florida and locally. His newest dramatic comedy, Half Steps, will premier at Chapel Street Players community theatre in Newark on Friday, Nov. 5, with performances continuing weekends through Nov. 20. Masons presentation will include tips on how writing plays differs from writing a short story or novel and how to write interesting dialogue.
