Medical technology awarded accreditation

3:06 p.m., Oct. 29, 2004--The Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist Program of the University of Delaware/Christiana Care Health Services has been accredited for seven years until Oct. 31, 2011, by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

The program’s students get training at 22 clinical affiliates throughout the region, including Christiana and Johns Hopkins hospitals, Quest Diagnostics and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The review process included a site visit in April, and an accreditation certificate has been sent to Anna P. Ciulla, who chairs UD’s Department of Medical Technology.
