Jazz Chamber Ensemble in concert Oct. 21

9:54 a.m., Oct. 19, 2004--UD’s Department of Music presents its Jazz Chamber Ensemble in concert at 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, in Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.

Directed by Vernon James, the program will feature compositions of James Williams, Robert Watson and Joe Henderson, including music recorded by the Jazz Messengers led by the late great drummer Art Blakey. Latin jazz will be featured after intermission, including music by Ruben Blades, Abelardo Valdes, Kenny Dorham and Mongo Santamaria.

Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices.
