Employee men’s health fair set Nov. 10

4:33 p.m., Oct. 13, 2004--“Touchdown for Health,” a men’s health fair sponsored by UD’s Employee Wellness Center, will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Multipurpose Room C of the Trabant University Center. The Employee Wellness Center encourages UD male employees and retirees (and women interested in men’s health issues) to get off the sidelines and attend this interactive event.

Because statistics indicate that men are less apt to keep up with their medical care than women, the Employee Wellness Center encourages men to monitor their personal wellness by getting recommended exams and screenings and by choosing healthy behaviors.

Blood pressure testing will be available at the health fair. Those attending also will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from many health promotion groups, including:

  • American Heart Association;
  • American Cancer Society;
  • UD’s Department of Physical Therapy;
  • Occupational Health and Safety; and
  • UD’s Employee Wellness Center.

The first 25 people to register will receive a free Employee Wellness Center travel mug.

Registration fee is $10 Wellness Dollars. For more information, or to register, visit [www.udel.edu/wellness/index.html] or call (302) 831-8388. Registrations also will be accepted at the door.
