Instructional grant preproposals due Oct. 31

9 a.m., Oct. 25, 2004--The application process has begun for faculty and professional instructional grants ranging from $2,000-$20,000, available July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006.

UD’s Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE), General Education Initiative (GEI) and Information Technologies (IT) award the grants to projects that enhance and revise undergraduate courses and fit the criteria described at [www.udel.edu/present/grant/].

The grant program focuses on three general education goals: ethics, cultural diversity (including revision to currently designated multi-cultural courses) and service learning.

The application process begins with the preproposal. Selected preproposals require a full proposal. Preproposals are submitted as e-mail attachments. For more information on preparing preproposals, got to [www.udel.edu/present/grant/preproposal.html].

All proposals are evaluated by a committee appointed by the provost. Examples of projects funded in the past and profiles of faculty who received funding are available at [www.udel.edu/cte/grants.htm] and [www.udel.edu/present/profiles/index.html].

Grant deadlines:

  • Preproposal due: Sunday, Oct. 31;
  • Preproposals returned: Friday, Nov. 19;
  • Final proposal due: Sunday, Jan. 9; and
  • Grant recipients announced: Friday, Jan. 28
