Schola Cantorum performs Nov. 6, 7

4:45 p.m., Nov. 4, 2004--UD’s Department of Music presents Schola Cantorum, its 133-member choir, in two concerts this weekend.

Both concerts will feature J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 106 for Chamber Choir and Orchestra and selections from Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil for unaccompanied chorus. Directed by Paul Head, associate professor of music, the choir is made up of UD students, faculty and staff, as well as northern Delaware community members.

The first concert is at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at St. Helena Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Tickets for the Wilmington concert are available by calling (302) 831-3397.

The second concert, a repeat of the Wilmington concert, is set for 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov., 7, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Trabant University Center or Bob Carpenter Center box offices. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $3 for students.
