Delaware’s Tadjalli recognized by CAA

9:25 a.m., Oct. 26, 2004--For the second time this season, freshman forward Sobhan Tadjalli of the University of Delaware men’s soccer team has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Tadjalli scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Hofstra University on Friday. It was his 11th goal of the season, breaking the UD record for goals by a freshman. John McCloskey held the previous mark of 10 goals, which he set in 1975.

Tadjalli is second in the CAA with 11 goals and two assists for 24 total points. He trails only Dominic Oduro of Virginia Commonwealth University, who has 12 goals and one assist for 25 points.

UD will face Virginia Commonwealth at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29, at the Delaware Mini-Stadium.
