Peter J. Zannoni
 

July 8, 2005--Peter J. Zannoni, 83, of Grantsvile, W.Va., died March 27 at Charleston Area Medical Center’s Memorial Division.

Born in Bellaire, Ohio, he earned three degrees at UD: a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1944, a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1948 and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1950. He was a registered professional engineer in West Virginia, Delaware and Maryland.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal, the American Campaign medal and the World War II Victory medal.

Mr. Zannoni was a co-founder of Rubber Fabricators Inc., RPR Industries and other small businesses throughout his career. He was a former deputy commissioner of the West Virginia Department of Highways.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell Zannoni; son, John M. Zannoni of Knoxville, Tenn.; two daughters, Lisa W. Zannoni of Raleigh, N.C., and Pier J.Z. Bocchini of Parkersburg; a grandson, Peter J. Bocchni of Parkersburg; and a sister, Atea Chiappori.
