July 8, 2005--Mary H. Swain, 54, of Peninsula, Va., died Dec. 19.

A native of Marlton, N.J., she graduated from UD in 1972 with a degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in metallurgy.

She was employed with Lockheed Martin for 15 years and was deparment manager of materials and aero/gas dynamics. She also was a past president of the eastern Virginia chapter of the American Society of Metals.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bill Swain; son, Christopher Swain of Poquoson, Va.; parents, Henry and Mildred Haines of Saddlebag Lake Resort, Lake Wales, Fla.; sister, Carol Haines of Lake Wales, Fla.; and brother, Gary Haines of Greensboro, N.C.
