April 13, 2005--Evelyn C. Mickle, 80, of Newark, died on Monday, March 21, at her home.

Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Mickle had a long career with the University of Delaware, retiring as the secretary to the dean of the then-College of Human Resources.

An avid University of Delaware football fan, she was a member of the Blue and Gold Club.

Mrs. Mickle was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Mickle, and their son, Stephen Mickle. She is survived by two daughters, Christine Myslenski of Newark; and Kathleen Mickle-Askin and her husband, John Askin, of Dover; sister, Joan McCann and her husband, Clem, of West Melbourne, Fla.; three grandchildren, Nicole James and her husband, Michael, Leigh Askin and Laura Askin; and great-grandson, Evan James.
