Betty Baringer named spring HR Liaison

Betty Baringer
10:04 a.m., April 7, 2005--Betty Baringer, staff assistant in physics and astronomy, was greeted with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of her selection as the Human Resources (HR) Liaison of the spring quarter, when she came to work Tuesday morning.

“The flowers were so unexpected; I never anticipated this,” Baringer, who has worked at UD since 1990, said. “It is such an honor and so nice to have one’s work recognized.

“I work closely with Dennis Collins, assistant to the chairperson, who nominated me. Most of my job as liaison involves processing forms for graduate students and employees. Human Resources provides the support and cooperation that makes my job go more smoothly. My principal contact is Rebecca Santoro [records analyst/coordinator of payroll], who is so helpful and easy to work with,” she said.

HR Liaisons are an essential link between human resources and academic and administrative offices on campus, providing personnel services and coordinating information. In recognition of their importance to campus life, an HR Liaison is selected each quarter for recognition of exceptional service.
