Paul Laux, chairperson of the Department of Finance in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, was quoted in a July 17 News Journal story about decisions facing stockholders as Bank of America prepares to take over MBNA America. Mark Greene, assistant professor of philosophy, was featured July 15 on National Public Radios Day to Day program. Greene was lead author of an article in a recent issue of the journal Science concerning the moral issues raised by transplanting human neural stem cells into nonhuman primates. Craig Cary, associate professor of marine studies, was featured July 15 on National Public Radios Science Friday program. Cary, who annually leads thousands of schoolchildren worldwide on his Extreme research dives through the Internet and telephone links with the submersible research vessel Alvin, discussed deep-sea exploration. Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a July 15 Washington Post story concerning the alleged misuse of company funds by a Wal-Mart official.
