Philip W. Hufnell
 

June 23, 2005--Philip W. Hufnell, 77, of Wilmington, died on Feb. 9.

Born in West Chester, Pa., Mr. Hufnell was a 1951 University of Delaware graduate, with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Hufnell retired in 1989 as a specialist manager at the Louviers site engineering department after 38 years with the DuPont Co.

He was an elder at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark and past president of Outreach of Delaware, a prison ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Betts Hufnell; his son, Timothy W. Hufnell; and his grandson, Caleb Samuel Hufnell.

A funeral service was held Feb. 12 at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark.
