April 22, 2005--Edward F. "Ned" Heite, 66, died April 17.

An historian and archaeologist certified by the Society of Professional Archaeologists, he formerly served as chief of the Delaware Bureau of Archives and Records.

A Hagley Fellow at the University of Delaware, he taught business information systems in UD’s Department of Business Administration.

He held bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Richmond.

Funeral services were private.
