Allison Stuart Harding
 

July 8, 2005--Allison Stuart Harding, 34, of Montgomery, Ala., died March 21 at her horse farm there.

Born in Richmond, Va., she received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering at UD in 1993. While in college, she was a member of the Air Force ROTC, and in 1992 received the Air Force Association’s Cadet of the Year Award.

After graduation, she entered the Air Force as a second lieutenant. She was stationed in various locations in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Panama and Turkey. Most recently, she was an instructor at the College of Aerospace Doctrine Research and Education at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery.

In 1999, Capt. Harding received the Air Force Achievement Medal for Meritorious Service. She also was awarded several citations for excellence as an instructor, including Outstanding Company Grade officer in 2002.

Through Touro University International, she compled a master of business admninistration degree summa cum laude in 2004.

Capt. Harding was active in breeding and training horses, flying airplanes, skydiving, swimming, biking, skiing and scuba diving.

She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Apirian, and stepfather, Lloyd Apirian, of Severna Park., Md.; her father, Michael Harding, and stepmother, Carole Harding, of Annapolis; one brother, Colin Harding of Houston; and her grandmother, Jean Tarpley of Richmond, Va.
