Quarterback Joe Flacco transfers to Delaware

9:58 a.m., Aug. 31, 2005--Sophomore quarterback Joe Flacco, a transfer from the University of Pittsburgh, has enrolled at the University of Delaware and joined the Fightin’ Blue Hens football team, according to UD Head Coach K.C. Keeler.

Flacco, a 6-foot, 6-inch, 220-pound native of Audubon, N.J., practiced with the Hens for the first time on Tuesday afternoon, Keeler said.

Because Flacco was not released from his scholarship at Pitt, he will not be eligible to play in any games this season for UD.

Flacco played in three games for the Panthers last season and will have two years of eligibility remaining at UD beginning in the 2006 season.
