UD student chemists take top ISCC honors

Matthew Roberts and Heather Egolf-Fox won the biochemistry first-place and analytical chemistry second-place awards, respectively.
8:35 a.m., April 20, 2005--Matthew F. Roberts, senior chemistry and biochemistry major, and Heather Egolf-Fox, senior chemistry major, won the biochemistry first place and analytical chemistry second place awards, respectively, at the 69th Intercollegiate Student Chemists Conference (ISCC), held Saturday, April 16, at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.

UD seniors Roberts, Egolf-Fox, Olajumoke Fadugba, biochemistry, Christopher amEnde, biochemistry, and Sarah Redding, biochemistry, were among 29 students from 11 colleges and universities who presented their research.

John L. Burmeister, Alumni Distinguished Professor and associate chairperson, and Hal White, professor, both of chemistry and biochemistry, accompanied the students. For more information, visit [www.udel.edu/chem/white/UCC/ISCC2005.html].

Next year's ISCC is scheduled April 22 at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
