Beware of toner, ink cartridge e-mail offers

10:15 a.m., Aug. 26, 2004--Recently e-mails offering to sell toner and ink cartridges at purportedly low prices have flooded the campus. Often the prices quoted actually are higher than those on UDMart, or shipping charges are extravagant, according to Burt Wilson, senior buyer, Procurement Services.

Wilson advises campus shoppers to “be wary of offers that sound too good to be true and remember that all the toner you need is available on UDMart” at [www.udel.edu/udmart]. The University’s electronic purchasing mart, UDMart, allows for point-and-click purchasing from an online catalog using a UD procurement card.

“If you have received an offer that you are unsure of, feel free to contact the Procurement Services office at (302) 831-2161,” Wilson said. “We'll be happy to check it out for you.”
