Fall TA conference preregistration deadline is Aug. 13

3:34 p.m., Aug. 4, 2004--The annual Conference for Graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) will be held Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 23-25, at the Trabant University Center and Gore Hall. Refer to the online agenda for information and updates [http://cte.udel.edu/tacagenda2004.html].

Preregister online at [http://cte.udel.edu/tac04reg.htm] or call the Center for Teaching Effectiveness (CTE) at (302) 831-2027, by Friday, Aug. 13.

The conference, part of a series of orientations for new graduate students, is cosponsored by graduate studies, the Graduate Student Senate and CTE.

Senior TAs, faculty and staff will draw on their own experiences to provide information, tips on effective teaching practices and to answer questions. TAs will be able to interact with their fellows and participate in sessions on campus resources such as UD’s libraries and web publishing.

Because TAs will be teaching in a variety of disciplines, conference sponsors are urging each department to highlight sessions that are most pertinent to their TAs instructional roles for discipline-specific training activities.

For more information, contact Gabriele Bauer, conference coordinator, at [gabriele@udel.edu].
