Women’s advanced self-defense class offered

3:21 p.m., Sept. 23, 2004--To increase campus safety, UD’s Department of Public Safety is offering an Advanced Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) classes during the fall semester.

A self-defense program designed expressly for women who have already completed the Basic RAD course, the 15-hour Advanced RAD course teaches advanced self-defense strategies.

The free class, which is offered to all female full- or part-time UD students, faculty and staff, is taught by certified instructors and is endorsed by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.

All slots are filled in the fall semester Basic RAD classes.

The Advanced RAD class is offered from 6-9 p.m., Mondays, from Oct. 18-Nov. 15, in 061 McKinly Lab.

To register or for more information, e-mail Janet Hedrick at [janjan@udel.edu]. When registering, include your class choice and University affiliation (faculty, staff or student). To learn more about the RAD program at UD, visit [www.udel.edu/PublicSafety/RAD.htm]. No phone calls, please.
