Police investigate Sept. 2 robbery

8:30 a.m., Sept. 7, 2004--Newark Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery of a 22-year-old UD student that occurred around 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, on Kells Avenue, between South College and Wollaston avenues, in Newark.

The student was walking home from Delaware Stadium when he was approached by three men. One of them bumped into the student and then started a shoving match. The student was knocked to the ground and attacked by all three suspects. While he was on the ground, the student said he was kicked and punched. The suspects then took his wallet and watch and fled on foot. The student received only minor bruises and scratches in the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Newark Police at (302) 366-7111 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
