UD, Keio to meet in lacrosse exhibition

1:13 p.m., Sept. 24, 2004--The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team will face Keio University of Japan in an exhibition game at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, at Rullo Stadium.

Keio won Japan’s Collegiate University Championship this year, and the team is currently touring the United States, having already played against Goucher College, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Washington College and a Fellowship of Christian Athletes squad.

After its game with the Fightin’ Blue Hens, the team will continue its tour with games against the club Baltimore Elite, as well as the U.S. Naval Academy.

Admission to Saturday’s game is free.

Head Coach Bob Shillinglaw’s UD team went 10-6 in 2004 and advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament for the first time since joining the conference. The Hens were ranked as high at No. 11 in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll.
