All students invited to Substitute Teacher Fair

9:51 a.m., Sept. 28, 2004--Students of all majors are invited to the seventh annual Substitute Teacher Job Fair, sponsored by UD’s Center for Teacher Education and MBNA Career Services Center, to be held from 2-5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center.

Representatives from Delaware public and charter schools and related organizations will be on hand to talk to candidates about statewide substitute teaching needs now and in the winter and spring.

Free and open to the public, the fair provides an opportunity to get information about substitute teaching, to talk to school representatives and pick up employment applications.

Substitute teachers must have at least a high school diploma, pass a criminal background check, have a current health exam/PPD test and complete the forms required by each district.

To expedite the criminal background check, a Delaware State police representative will be on site to fingerprint applicants for a $54 fee, which must be paid by a certified check or money order payable to the Delaware State Police.

For more information, call 831-8570, or visit [www.udel.edu/CSC/subfair.html] to view the list of participants.
