International Travel Awards announced

3:38 p.m., July 1, 2004--The Center for International Studies has given International Travel Awards to 23 UD professors to support their attendance at international conferences. All awards are in the amount of $500.

The awardees and their destinations are:

  • George Bear, professor of education, England;
  • Ralph Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication and Distinguished Journalist, Canada;
  • Persephone Braham, assistant professor of foreign languages and literatures, Mexico;
  • Edmunds Bunkse, associate professor of geography, Greece;
  • Suzanne Burton, assistant professor of music, Spain, including the Canary Islands;
  • Martha Carothers, professor of art and interim faculty director of the Center for Teaching Effectiveness and General Education Initiative, China;
  • Pamela Cook-Ioannidis, professor of mathematical sciences, Greece;
  • Zoubeida Dagher, associate professor of education, Mexico;
  • Gary Ebert, professor of mathematical sciences, Italy;
  • Mary Anne Huntley, assistant professor of mathematics, Denmark;
  • Amy Johnson, assistant professor of nursing, Ireland;
  • Calvin Keeler, professor of animal and food sciences, Germany;
