Ralph Begleiter, Rosenberg Professor of Communication, was quoted in a July 27 Christian Science Monitor story on how educators can make use of political conventions as teaching tools. Begleiter said response to a special UD course, this year being offered in conjunction with the Democratic convention in Boston and in 2000 centered on the Republican convention in Philadelphia, demonstrates that students are interested in the political process.

Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a July 26 Business Week commentary on corporate accountability. Elson also is quoted in a July 25 San Francisco Chronicle story on former chief executive officers being called back to their posts and in a July 25 Charlotte Observer story on CEO salaries.

The August issue of Discover magazine noted the research on liquid body armor technology being conducted at the University of Delaware by Norman Wagner, professor of chemical engineering.
