William Sullivan, UD director of conference services, was featured in a July 20 News Journal story on the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel on campus.
James Adkins of UDs Cooperative Extension Service was quoted in a July 18 News Journal story about modern farm equipment that employs high technology satellite systems.
Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L.
Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a July 17 New York Times story concerning the sentencing of Martha Stewart.
Joyce Hill Stoner, professor of art conservation, was quoted in a July 17 News Journal story concerning the restoration of a Maxfield Parrish mural by UD art conservation students.
David Legates, associate professor of geography, was quoted in a July 17 News Journal story about the unusual summer weather, which has brought intense storms and torrential rains.
Paul Jones, art collector and UD benefactor, was featured in a column by David Person in the July 16 Huntsville (Ala.) Times, which noted that in1949 his application for admission to the University of Alabama was denied based on race. Jones went on to become one of the worlds leading collectors of works by African-American artists, a collection now housed at UD and the source of a major exhibition that will open Sept. 8.
