Charles Elson, Edgar S. Woolard Jr. Chair and director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, was quoted in a July 26 Business Week commentary on corporate Americas new accountability.
Ken Seaman, instructor and director of the multiple sclerosis assessment clinic in UDs physical therapy department, was quoted in a story in the July-September issue of Inside MS magazine, which is published for members of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The parents panels offered as part of UDs DelaWorld 101 new student orientation program were featured in the July 13 News Journal. Parents, some nervous about their child going away to school, found pearls of wisdom in the panelists comments.
Karen R. Rosenberg, chairperson of the anthropology department, was highlighted in a July Scientific American story about baby talk and the origins of infant language.
Neil Lanctot, a history faculty member, is author of the book Negro League Baseball: The Rise and Ruin of a Black Institution that was the subject of a story in the July 11 Philadelphia Inquirer and in the July 10 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Shuaib Meacham, assistant professor of education, was featured in a July 11 Gloucester County, N.J., Times story for his work in using hip-hop music as an educational resource.
Bob Shillinglaw, head coach of mens lacrosse, was quoted in a July 10 Norfolk Virginian-Pilot story on the growth in the popularity of lacrosse. It wasnt that long ago that you had to explain the rules constantly, but its no longer a sports oddity, Shillinglaw, said. People see it more and more frequently, so they dont regard it like hurling anymore.
Margaret Werth, assistant professor of art history, wrote a piece for the July 8 Newsday concerning the troubling images from Iraq of hostage beheadings and prisoner abuse.
