Honeycombs perform on Academy Lawn Aug. 7

3:53 p.m., July 20, 2004--The Honeycombs, the East Coast’s most requested band for sock-hops and other festive events, will perform from 4:30-9:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, on The Academy Building Lawn.

Billed as the most versatile party band in the region, the Honeycombs will perform their high-key renditions of popular standards from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s as part of the live entertainment scheduled for the Awesome Auto Affairs custom car show, which will take place from 4-10 p.m. the same afternoon, along East Main Street.

Both concert and auto show are free and open to the public, and free parking will be available throughout both events in all municipal parking lots in Newark.

For more information, call Maureen Feeney Roser at (302) 366-7030 or visit the Downtown Newark Partnership’s web site at [http://newark.de.us/downtown/specialevents.htm].
