MS-Bike to the Bay begins Oct. 2

UD’s 2004 Bike to the Bay team
2:45 p.m., Sept. 29, 2004--The University Derailleurs, composed of students, employees, alumni and friends of UD, will participate for the 12th year in the MS-Bike to the Bay fund-raiser, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 2-3.

The Derailleurs have raised more than $42,900 in the past to support Multiple Sclerosis Society of Delaware research and programs. Each rider must raise a minimum of $200 to participate in this year’s 150-mile ride from Dover to Dewey Beach and back. The UD team is riding in honor of Althea McDowell, former program coordinator of the Americans with Disabilities Act program at UD.

To join the team or make a pledge, which is tax deductible, call Jerry Hendricks at (302) 831-1393 or send e-mail to [hendrick @udel.edu].
