UD baseball team plans golf tournament 2:44 p.m., Sept. 16, 2004--The University of Delaware baseball program will hold a fund-raising golf tournament on Friday, Oct. 1, at The Club at Patriots Glen in Elkton, Md., as part of Homecoming weekend activities. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the UD baseball program. Awards will be presented to the top two foursomes, as well as for the longest drive and the ball placed closest to the pin. The cost to participate in the tournament is $120 per golfer or $480 per foursome. The entry fee includes the round of golf, several souvenir gifts, a continental breakfast and lunch. Also provided will be food and beverages on the course. There will be a raffle of numerous items following lunch. Tee sponsorships by both individuals and businesses are welcome. The cost is $100. The continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start to follow at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available immediately after the round at the Elktowne Tavern, located at the course.
