Delaware Women’s Conference set March 5

1:21 p.m., Feb. 16, 2005--The 21st annual Delaware Women’s Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m-3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 5. Conference information can be found on the web at [www.delawarewomen.org/]. UD employees can still receive an early registration rate when registering through the Office of Women’s Affairs.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Our Legacies: the Interconnected Lives of Women.” Underscoring the relevance of that concept in women’s lives will be two keynote speakers, a first in the 21-year history of the conference.

The speakers—a mother and daughter team—Letty Cottin Pogrebin, one of America’s outstanding feminist journalists, and Robin Pogrebin, a reporter for The New York Times will share their personal and professional experiences with more than 700 conference attendees.

Letty Pogrebin, a graduate of Brandeis University, is cofounder of the National Women's Political Caucus and Ms. magazine, author of nine books, including Free to Be You and Me, written with Marlo Thomas and Gloria Steinam, and How to Make it in a Man's World.

Daughter Robin is a reporter on the culture desk of The New York Times. Prior to joining the Times, she was an associate producer at Peter Jennings Reporting, a documentary division at ABC News and has written freelance articles for Vogue, New York Magazine, Departures and Parents.
