3:45 p.m., March 2, 2005--When visiting Vita Nova, the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management’s (HRIM) restaurant in the Trabant University Center, take special note of the series of new photos adorning the walls.

The University campus, renowned for the beauty of its buildings, plantings and overall appearance, is featured there.

A few months ago, Fred DeMicco, ARAMARK Chair of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, asked the Office of Public Relations for suggestions for photos to enhance Vita Nova.

“The Office of Public Relations has created UD desk calendars each year, featuring campus scenes by our photographers, and we suggested using some of these,” said Monroe Givens, associate director of public relations.

Reflecting the different seasons on campus, the scenes are mainly of the Newark campus, with some of the Wilmington campus. Images of Raub Hall, which houses the department, and the new Courtyard Newark-University of Delaware also are featured in the display.

"The prints lend a nice dash of color to Vita Nova and enhance the ambience," DeMicco said. "The four seasons theme represented in the prints also reflect our seasonal menu selections."

Barbara Stein, an art director in public relations, was responsible for the project, getting the copies made and framing them.
