Feb. 14, 2005--John Wesley Tims Jr., 51, of West Chester, Pa., died Feb. 9.
A 1971 graduate of Brandywine High School, he earned his bachelors degree in accounting from UD in 1976 and later returned to the University to earn his MBA degree in 1987.
He held various positions with the University Alumni Association and was president-elect at the time of his death.
Mr. Tims worked in auditing and finance at Hercules for 10 years. In 1987, he joined MBNA, where he held various management positions, most recently senior vice president in marketing.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy, and their three children, Zane Alexander, age 9, Emily Erin, age 8, and Savannah Talley, age 5. He is also survived by his mother, Beverly Keegan, and father, John Wesley Tims Sr., and his sisters, Joan Vandenbraak and her husband, Bill, and Denise Lewis and her husband, Tate.
