Hens win three events at Princeton Invitational

3:30 p.m., Feb. 21, 2005--Casey Bennett won the pole vault, Brittany Wright won the 60-meter dash and Brad Dodson captured the mile run as athletes from the University of Delaware participated in the Princeton Indoor Track and Field Invitational, held Saturday at Jadwin Gym.

Bennett won the pole vault with a leap of 11 feet, 9-3/4 inches, and Wright took the 60 meters in a time of 7.77, tying her own school record. Wright also finished second in the 200-meter dash.

Dodson won the mile in a time of 4:16.92. Last week, Dodson won three distance events at the University of Delaware Thomson Invitational.

Also for the UD women’s team, Asha Quant finished second in the long jump, Rachel Young third in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw, Kate Klim third in the 3,000 meters and Toni Riggi third in the 1,000-meter run.

For the UD men’s team, Chris Dixon finished second in the 400 meters, Pat Henry third in the 200 meters, Charlie Williams fourth in the 400 meters and Mike Yost fifth in the weight throw.
