Nursing spring lecture series set
4:04 p.m., Feb. 16, 2005--New findings about hypertension, how sleep disorders affect your ability to function and the stress of pain, snakes and cancer are subjects of the Department of Nursings Spring 2005 Research Lecture Series.
Part of NURS 362, Research Concepts in Health Care, series speakers are actively involved in National Institutes of Health-funded research. The series, held from 10:15 a.m.-noon, Thursdays in the Trabant University Center, is open to UD faculty, staff and students.
The schedule is as follows:
- Feb. 17--New Insights Into Hypertension, by William Farquhar, assistant professor of Health & Exercise Sciences, movie theatre;
- March 24--Cant Sleep at Night, Cant Function During the Day: Sleep Disorders and Daily Functioning, A Program of Research, by Terri Weaver, associate professor and chairperson of Biobehavioral and Health Sciences Division, School of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania, movie theatre;
- April 14--What Can You Ask a Snake About Cancer? by Mary Ann McLane, associate professor of medical technology, rooms 209 and 211; and
- May 5--The Impact of Painful Stress on Neuroendocrine and Immune Function, by Gayle Page, associate professor and director of doctoral program, School of Nursing, Johns Hopkins University, movie theatre.
