Quarterback Andy Hall to play for Rhein Fire

9 a.m., Feb. 16, 2005--Former University of Delaware quarterback Andy Hall will play for the Rhein Fire when the 2005 NFL Europe season gets under way in April.

Pete Kuharchek, head coach of the Rhein Fire, said on the NFL Europe web site that he is very pleased with the depth of the team at quarterback.

“Andy Hall was on the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2004 season so he has the edge in the race for the starting job. I scouted him during the Eagles camp in the summer, and he is strong-armed, mobile and he was a winner in college,” Kuharchek said. “He was one of the guys we wanted heading into the draft and allocation and we’re really glad to have him.”

Hall, who guided the Fightin’ Blue Hens to the 2003 NCAA Division I-AA national championship, was a sixth round draft choice of the Eagles.

The Rhein Fire also has on the roster quarterbacks Scott McBrien of the University of Maryland, who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers last season, and Jason Fife, who played collegiate football at the University of Oregon.
