GIS workshops offered this spring

4:37 p.m., Feb. 21, 2005--Members of the GIS@UD community are offering several workshops this spring on various Geographical Information System (GIS) topics.

Workshops, ranging from introductory to advanced levels, last from one to three hours and are open to those with a valid UD ID.

The first workshop, "ArcGIS: Introduction to ArcView 9," will be held from 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22, in Room 056 Morris Library. Geographic Information Systems allow users to visualize geographic data and then present findings so that others can easily interpret them. This class will introduce participants to basic ArcView GIS tools and functions.

Other workshops offered this semester are "ArcGIS 9: Tips and Tricks," "General Geocoding Techniques in ArcGIS 9," "Creating Animations with ArcGIS 9" and "ArcGIS: Cartography Tips."
