UD celebrates Engineers Week, Feb. 20-26

3:12 p.m., Feb. 17, 2005--Engineering dodgeball, broom hockey, Quizzo night and a photo treasure hunt are only a few of the activities UD’s College of Engineering has lined up in celebration of the 54th annual Engineers Week. The theme this year is globalization and the future.

In keeping with that theme, Engineers Week will launch a partnership with Engineers Without Borders USA, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that delivers environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects to communities worldwide to improve their quality of life. The Engineers Week consortium includes more than 100 engineering, scientific and education societies and major corporations dedicated to increasing public awareness and appreciation of engineering.

UD Engineers Week cosponsors include the College of Engineering (COE), COE Student Organizations, the Delaware section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), MBNA Career Services Center, Delaware Council of Engineering Societies (DCES) and Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials.
