Effort-certification workshops offered 11:46 a.m., March 2, 2005--UD's effort-certification process is changing effective March 1. Research at UD depends on funding from federal and state agencies, private foundations, organizations and industry. The effort certification process is the principal means for verifying that salaries and wages charged to or contributed to a sponsored project are fulfilled in a way consistent with the award documentation and compliant with the federal regulations for which the University is held accountable. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) is offering four two-session workshops for instruction in the new process and how to utilize financial tools to retrieve accurate data, starting Monday, March 7. The training sessions are available to employees who will either certify to or administer the effort-certification process for a given department. The sessions are divided into four groupings based on OVPR project management team assignment. For the list of groupings, visit the OVPR web site at [www.ovpr.udel.edu/OVPR/do/index?pageId=30]. All sessions will take place in rooms 209 and 211 of the Trabant University Center, unless otherwise noted. Session one Session two Session three Session four OVPR advises anyone interested in effort certification to attend with their project management team assignment/group. R.s.v.p. to Debbie Coffin [dcoffin@udel.edu] to secure a spot at the appropriate session. To learn how to subscribe to UDaily, click here. |
