Reducing cancer risks

4:33 p.m., March 1, 2005--Experts estimate that up to two-thirds of all cancer deaths in the U.S. could be prevented through life-style changes and proper health screenings.

UD’s Employee Wellness Center will host a panel presentation “Reduce Your Risk of Cancer,” from 12:05 -12:55 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, in 006 Willard Hall.

The panel includes Jane Burton, an oncology nurse at Union Hospital in Elkton, Md.; Kristine Henry, a registered dietitian at Union Hospital, and Linda Smith, exercise physiologist with the Employee Wellness Center.

Employees interested in learning more about the healthy behaviors that help reduce cancer risk are encouraged to attend.

Register online at [www.udel.edu/wellness], or by calling (302) 831-8388.

Employees have until June 15 to use their allocations of 50 Wellness Dollars for 2004-05.
