UNC Greensboro sweeps Blue Hens in baseball 9:15 a.m., Feb. 21, 2005--The University of Delaware baseball team lost all three games in its weekend series at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. The Fightin Blue Hens lost 5-1 on Friday, 6-5 in 11 innings on Saturday and 4-3 on Sunday. In Sundays game, UNC Greensboro broke open a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fifth and held on for the win. Second baseman Brock Donovan had two hits, and first baseman Dan Kozek scored two runs. UD pitcher Brent Gaphardt took the loss. Saturdays game went back and forth, with UNC Greensboro finally getting the win in the 11th inning. Donovan, designated hitter Kelly Buber and left fielder Bryan Hagerich had two hits each for the Hens, with Donovan driving home two runs and Hagerich scoring a pair. Jason Rogers started the game and worked six innings, allowing two earned runs. Reliever Matt Heppner took the loss. In Fridays opener, the Hens got just three hits, by Kozek, third baseman Ryan Graham and center fielder Brent Rogers. Starter Scott Rambo took the loss. UD will play a three-game series at the University of Richmond, with a double-header at noon, Saturday, Feb. 26, and a single game at noon, Sunday, Feb. 27.
